Real Life Is The Best Teacher For Teen Drivers
Being “brutally honest” with new teen drivers is the basis of the Youthful Driver Program, provided by the Seibert Insurance Agency. Drawing on the personal experience of an auto-related tragedy has compelled it’s creator to bring home the experience to teens in a realistic way.
“The Youthful Driver Program course, taught by agency staff and using a real life example, covers vehicle operator liability and responsibility, the most disastrous driving distractions (including a video of what can happen to a multi-tasking driver and the passengers), and the consequences of drinking and driving.”
In addition to the most important aspect of safety, attention is also paid to the factors that influence the cost to insure new drivers, including those that the drivers themselves have control over, such as school performance. Costs for insuring teen drivers are notoriously high and often play a large part in the decision as to when a teen can begin driving. Understanding how the cost of auto insurance is determined helps the new driver reduce the financial impact.
The training includes a contract that participants sign upon completion and a comprehensive list of driving tips that are geared toward the young drivers.
